PRESS STATEMENT ON THE EXTENSION OF THE BOREHOLE REGISTRATION EXERCISE

The Water Resources Management Authority (WARMA) would like to inform the general public and stakeholders that the Authority has extended the Borehole Registration Exercise Deadline for existing boreholes from the 31st December 2019 to 31st January 2020.

The deadline extension has been necessitated to provide the general public with ample time to register their existing boreholes due to festivities that most of the Zambian populace will be engaged in during the current festive season.
Therefore, the Authority is calling on all existing unregistered borehole owners to take advantage of this extension by prioritizing the registration of their boreholes with WARMA to avoid penalties that accompany having an unregistered borehole, as stated in the Statutory Instrument (SI) 20 of 2018.

Furthermore, WARMA would like to take this opportunity to announce to the general public that the Authority will by 31st December 2019 be relocating its headquarters offices from its current location on Plot No. 4186, Addis Ababa Drive to its new facility called ‘The WARMA HOUSE’ on Plot No. LN-385-7/LN-385-8, along Alick Nkhata Road, apposite Alliance Francaise in Long Acres, Lusaka.
However, the phone numbers and all contact addresses/ details remain the same.
For further details contact the Authority on 0211-251934 or 0974-606743.
